Chicken pox – actually a harmless but very infectious children`s disease, occurs with even greater frequency in adulthood. This illness is worse for adults and lasts considerably longer than children.
A blood test can establish if you have already had chicken pox. Should antibodies against chicken pox be detected in your blood, then you are protected life-long against it. If no antibodies are found, then you can contract chicken pox in adulthood. A one-time vaccination keeps you effectively protected.
